I currently work in an international hedge fund as a Talent Acquisition specialist. I have 4 years of professional work experience in India. I graduated in 2022 with a BMS degree. I have given my GMAT FE with a score of 665.

I am targeting schools in the EU region. I applied to Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and unexpectedly got a rejection. Since that program starts in Jan, I was holding off other German colleges as a heavy fees for seat reservation is levied. Now that the college of choice is available no more, most other colleges are in their final round of applications. I want to streamline my strategy into getting into a realistic place based on my long term career aspirations. Please help!!

Hi, that's unfortunate about RSM. However. many European MBA programs still have ongoing deadlines to which you could apply, including some German MBA programs. Applying with a very strong application can still yield good results.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Sorry to hear about the RSM rejection. Your profile actually has some solid elements, 4 years of work experience in an international hedge fund, a perfect GPA, and a strong GMAT score.

Sometimes rejections happen because of class composition, timing of the round, or school fit, rather than the strength of the profile itself. For your consulting goal, it would help to clearly connect your talent acquisition experience in the hedge fund environment with business strategy, organizational growth and people strategy, since consulting firms like to see structured problem-solving and impact.

If scholarships and ROI matter, applying in earlier rounds next cycle can sometimes improve chances, so you may also want to think about whether you prefer a late-round application this year vs. a stronger Round 1 strategy next cycle.

Are you open to programs outside the EU as well, or strictly targeting Europe? With a clearer school strategy and strong application positioning, you should still have good opportunities in European MBA programs.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
