After almost 4 years in a tech startup dedicated to used cars, where I was 18th employee and saw it rise to a multinational company with presence in 8 countries, I'm looking for the next step in my career. My end goal is becoming a top leader in a tech company dedicated to sustainability, either through creating my own startup or applying to a company I believe in. To reach that goal, I think a passage through Consulting and then to other top tech companies will be beneficial to learn the skillset I need. The best way forward to reach my goals is through a top-tier MBA.

Hey
Here's an evaluation of your profile for MBA programs at Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, Stanford, and Sloan:
GMAT Score:
Your GMAT score of 730 is competitive and falls within the range of the average scores for these top-tier MBA programs. It demonstrates your strong aptitude for the academic rigors of an MBA curriculum.

Work Experience:
Your experience at a tech startup, witnessing its growth from a small team to a multinational company with a presence in multiple countries, is impressive. Being one of the early employees and seeing the company's development can provide valuable insights and leadership opportunities. This experience can be a unique selling point in your application, showcasing your ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Your goal of becoming a top leader in a tech company dedicated to sustainability aligns well with the current trends and interests in the business world. The combination of your startup experience and passion for sustainability can make for a compelling narrative in your application.

Career Goals:
Your ambition to become a top leader in a tech company dedicated to sustainability demonstrates your long-term vision and potential impact in the field. It's great that you have clarity about your end goal and understand the potential benefits of gaining consulting experience to develop the skillset required for your future aspirations.

Target Schools:
Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, Stanford, and Sloan are all highly prestigious business schools known for their rigorous programs and strong networks. However, admission to these schools is extremely competitive, and they receive a large number of applications each year. While your profile looks promising, it's important to remember that admission decisions are based on a holistic evaluation of various factors, including academic and professional achievements, leadership potential, personal qualities, and fit with the school's values and culture.

Make sure to craft compelling essays, secure strong letters of recommendation, and prepare well for interviews to present a well-rounded application that highlights your achievements, goals, and potential contributions to the MBA program and beyond.

Overall, with your strong GMAT score, solid work experience in a growing tech startup, and clear career goals, you have a competitive profile for these top-tier MBA programs. However, it's essential to invest time and effort in preparing a strong application to maximize your chances of admission.

Congratulations on your great progress in the startup and rising with it!
I think your GMAT is solid for the application from your background. The fact that the company became a MNC is also awesome! I think the transition from your background to the goal is the only part that is not clear from your post (are you already doing tech? I assume so) and if that's indeed the case, then you are not really changing much and not doing a big transition/leap - AdCom love people who stay within industry as it is easier to succeed and success is much more profound.

Final question is I guess about a consideration for a scholarship. You likely have a good shot at many of these programs but not clear about scholarship considerations. If you are going to be tempted by Ross with $$$ for example or Haas with $$, is it worth considering those as well potentially?

Final thought/advice, I would not shoot all my shots for the Top MBA in R1. I know this sounds crazy perhaps since R1 is often considered the best round but should you get a promotion, something else happens, or perhaps you realize you can improve your application or need to improve it due to dings across the board, you still have a shot left. Otherwise, you shift down to Tier 2 if you tried all Tier 1's so to speak.

Sorry about the wait with the reply over the weekend
