With 10+ years of work experience the European 1 year formats will definitely make a lot more sense since the median work experience is on the higher side, however we have worked with candidates having 10-12 years of experience for US business schools and seen success there as well. Transitioning from Government Affairs to Consulting will be doable and your experience will be unique since there isnt a lot of representation from professionals with background in Government Affairs - roles which tend to have a large impact. Would suggest focusing on your test scores and applications process to have greater chance of success.
