Education:

B.A. in Communication from a well-recognized institution in India, 2019, with a CGPA of 7.6/10
GRE Score: 311 (rewriting the exam soon)
Work Experience:

Currently working as a Recruitment Marketing Content Manager, with 4.5 years of professional experience, including 2 years focused on core marketing and 2 as a HR generalist and a recruiter.

Goals:

I aim to pursue an MBA to gain a solid theoretical foundation in marketing and transition into core branding roles within the FMCG sector.

I’m looking to refine my skills in data analysis and strategic marketing to make more informed decisions and craft impactful branding campaigns.

The MBA will provide the platform to showcase my creativity and strategic insight to top global brands, helping me advance my career more rapidly up the corporate ladder.

I’m particularly drawn to schools with strong case-study-based learning and a robust focus on marketing, which would allow me to apply my skills to real-world business challenges.

Will need more profile details to provide an objective assessment of your profile and programs that would be good fits. Your GRE is on the lower end of the spectrum so it is advisable to have a relook at the score and try for a 325+ score which can prove to be competitive from an application point of view. Typically gaming and internet has a strong presence on the West Coast, so your profile will be suitable for MBA programs from UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall, Foster School of Business etc. But these are just preliminary suggestions, will need further details to figure a good fit.

All the best!

Will need to understand the kind of work you have done as an HR professional, what are your career plans and if they are realistic enough. Further, if there is any particular reason to be incline with the Internet and New Media industry since its a niche industry. Also, the GPA just above the minimum threshold required by most schools (GPA: 3.0) so if thats in fact the case or you are converting your grades into a scale of 4.0. Plus you havent given any info on your undergrad education and your extra curricular.

I've been into recruitment for the major chunk of my work experience, however, over the past 1 year I've been into C&B, employee engagement and HR business partnering(Work as a generalist). I've been into gaming, I'm an ardent gamer myself and seeing the potential growth in the industry, would like to stick to it for the moment. Post MBA, I'd like to head towards marketing wherein I'm working on brand management for games/e-sports companies, aiding them with both game launches and employer branding, something that I've done, as a part and parcel of my job.
Undergrad was in a top tier private institute called Manipal in India, majoring in public relations, which inclines me towards marketing. Yes, I'm converting my GPA from a 10 to a 4.
Extra curriculars don't have a lot to go for, I've volunteered with an organisation and taught students and I was an acting VP for a month and a half at AIESEC.

Looks like an interesting profile since we dont normally see a lot of representation from Human Resource professionals for International MBAs and that too from the gaming space. Would advise against converting GPA, leave it as it is and maybe spend time working on the GRE since we typically look for scores north of 320 for you to have a competitive chance at a good MBA program, Honestly, marketing and branding roles are limited for international students in the United States and most of marketing aspirants eventually end up in more quant and analytics focused role within the marketing domain which basically is using data to get marketing insight. Brand Management is very very limited for international students although PMM (Product Marketing Manager) can be another decent replacement. Since you want to stick to the Gaming industry, try targeting the West Coast schools since most of the large companies such as Zynga, EA etc are located on the West Coast and hence it will be easier from a networking perspective, would advice against the East Coast schools since you will have to put in that much more efforts to crack a role with these companies due to location challenges. UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall, McCombs, Ross, Foster can be good bets for your career aspirations. Not too much gaming presence in the EU so would advice against those schools.
