I honestly, reading your experience and skill set, it seems like tech product management is a better fit for you than consulting. Or perhaps product management/marketing. I would recommend tech because it’s very hard to get a CPG job for an international person in the US… That’s assuming you’re hoping are planning to stay in the US after graduating.
Great job staying busy during college!
Entrance of your responsibilities, I would look to add more miserable bullets to it. Increasing sales by 30% or improving conversions or some thing that’s miserable with a number.
I earned a diploma in International Business with a GPA of 3.64. Currently, I am pursuing an additional diploma in Business Analytics. In addition to my academic achievements, I hold certifications from Google Play, Udemy courses, and a Collective Leadership certificate from Yale University.
What do you think my chances are for Yale Silver Scholars? And perhaps, with a scholarship in mind, I am aiming for a GMAT score of over 720, at the very least over 700.
I think a deferred MBA / Yale Silver Scholars would be the ideal/only MBA option if you are still studying/graduating shortly. However, another one is Specialized Masters.
Yale Silver scholars is not a big program and I don't know how generous with scholarships they are.... my guess they would be if you are also admitted to HBS 2+2 or Stanford deferred MBA but I have been proven wrong before... I think the big question they will have is WHY you need an MBA. There is a bit of a difference between a Specialized Masters and an MBA and while Specialized masters helps you gain a skill and profession, an MBA is a pretty general enhancement of your skillset so your internship and startup job will be coming very handy. I think it would be hard to get into Yale Silver Scholars if you are not professionally active in something outside of the University, to demonstrate that you will be able to recruit and get a job after graduation and also demonstrate how an MBA will benefit you.
P.S. Poking around Yale on the decision tracker (Summary by School) https://gmatclub.com/forum/decision-tra ... ake_year=0 - it looks like you will need to bump your GMAT past 720 into the higher territory. Traditionally the Deferred MBA programs and Yale Silver Scholars tend to be competitive, more so than the FT programs since the intake is so small.
Hi Chaitanya, Yale Silver Scholars is a limited intake, they take in a handful, thus it is very competitive. The Average GPA at Yale MBA is 3.69. Assuming that this is the average for the whole cohort, it is expected that the Silver Scholars come in with a higher than average GPA. This is a light weak point in your candidature. The GMAT score therefore will be an important tool for you to showcase a high academic acumen. You have mentioned the Diploma where you have a good GPA. A strong GMAT score to target would be 740 or above. Also to add to the strength of your profile it is recommended that you should see how you can enhance your International exposure.
