I'm currently a scientist at a pre-seed stage biotech company (read: 1 of 4 full-time employees) working on targeted gene therapies. The previous start up I was at was acquired and my team spun out the current company. Being in this in industry and especially in the SF biotech hub, I've witnessed companies starting and exiting faster than most therapeutics make their way into the clinic. This phenomena fueled by business deals is what inspired me to pursue an MBA. I want to be on the forefront of a company's success rather than behind-the-scenes at the bench.
