I have 4 years of experience in Consulting followed by 2 years of managerial experience at one of the largest Investment banks in the world and a tech firm. I want to go back to consulting but with a focus on strategy and governance. I want to work for a few years in Europe/Americas before moving back to India.
Are you applying with a GMAT or a GRE score?
Reach out to us at info@thembaedge.com to have a more detailed discussion. All the best for your IESE interview.
The downside of the US market is how busy you will be and working long hours during your first three years. After you establish yourself, you can pull back but in Europe, they have pretty strict rules and laws that will allow you to have a strong delineation between Work and personal time but at about a 50% discount to your salary … choose your poison 😂
Lots of options for consulting in the US. All of the top 20 schools do quite well with consulting with the Car out of the West Coast schools. The biggest ones would be Tuck, Fuqua, Darden and Tepper for the mid tier and pretty much all the Top10/M7’s.
I hope you are doing well. Your profile looks good on the surface.
Your profile for MBA admissions at top European business schools (LBS, IESE, HEC Paris, INSEAD) is as follows:
London Business School (LBS):
Application status: Applied in Round 1, Denied
While LBS is a highly competitive school, your academic and professional background is strong. The denial may have been due to a variety of factors, including competition, the strength of your application, or specific program fit.
IESE Business School:
Application status: Applied in Round 1, Interviewed
Being interviewed is a positive sign, as it means you passed the initial screening. Your consulting and managerial experience, coupled with your clear post-MBA career goals, likely contributed to your interview invitation. Prepare well for the interview to increase your chances of admission.
HEC Paris:
Application status: Applied in Round 3 for the September intake
Applying in Round 3 may be more competitive, but your strong academic record and professional experience could make your application competitive. However, late rounds tend to be more selective, so be prepared for a highly competitive pool.
INSEAD:
Application status: August Intake
INSEAD is known for its diversity, and your international experience and career goals align well with their program. It's a competitive school, and your application will be evaluated based on various factors. Ensure that your essays and recommendations are compelling.
Overall, your profile is strong with a high GPA, substantial consulting experience, and a clear post-MBA goal. It's encouraging that you've received an interview invitation from IESE. Continue to put your best foot forward in the interview process, and consider applying to other programs or reapplying to LBS if it aligns with your goals. Each school has its unique criteria and priorities, so admissions outcomes can vary. Good luck with your applications!
