Wow! That's strong background! I think you may be a bit too experienced... 11 years, MBA programs may feel they won't be able to offer quite enough of value... INSEAD or LBS/Judge may be a good mix for someone with longer work experience. But I see you applied to LBS... did you put Consulting into your goals? Perhaps worth playing safe and put finance.... very surprised you got dinged at LBS with 750 😵

Thank you for your encouragement. I also believe that my extensive professional experience might be an obstacle to pursuing an MBA, but I applied for it because I urgently need international work experience to enhance my opportunities in China.
I was surprised that LBS rejected my application without an interview. But NYU is my dream school because of its location and strong employment in NYC.
I am currently responsible for the corporate strategy and internal consulting (Staff) department, which is why I have listed consulting as my future career option rather than a role in financial services.
An MBA is not the sole solution to all my challenges. If all universities reject my application, I will accept it gracefully and then explore alternative ways to gain international experience.

If you’re planning to go back to China, have you considered doing Sloan fellows or Stanford MSX program? That may be a good fit and you would be a very competitive applicant there.

Thank you for your very insightful advice, but I might be in greater need of an overseas job opportunity rather than just pursuing further education.
Therefore, if this year's application outcomes don't align with my aspirations, I may opt for a part-time MBA program at a top Chinese university and continue to strive in my professional career.

Got ya. The 2 year MBA is great as it provides an internship and an opportunity to switch industries. The challenge with the Full Time regular 2-year MBA is that you are quite senior and schools may feel that the consulting opportunities you will be offered will be disappointing to you, and potentially very frustrating as the recruiting process for MBB's is notoriously selective with international applicants.

Perhaps you are right. I have an interview with NYU this week, and all I can do now is wait patiently for the final results.
Additionally, I am aware of the intense competition in MBB, and I am also making preparations for other job opportunities. MBB may not be the sole solution I am seeking in the consulting field.

Thank you very much for your response. Faced with the intense competition in MBB, on one hand, relying on my practical experience in strategy and organization over the years, as well as my leadership skills, I feel confident about succeeding in the interviews. On the other hand, I also believe that participating in corporate strategy, leadership projects, or considering Tire 2 consulting firms would be good alternative options.
