I feel my work-ex is pretty good but my primary concern is my GMAT 95th percentile 675, not sure if its a 730 or 720.

College: Tier-2 College in India, well known.

Co-curricular activities:

Built solar electric vehicles and healthcare devices in college (Won a couple of national competitions)

Built Vertical farming setups after college as a hobby project

Volunteered with iSpirit to build OCEN (A digital public infrastructure NFO)
Currently volunteering with People+AI to democratise access to compute

Work ex:

Worked for KPMG India and engaged in 1 international project. (2020-2021)

Joined a fintech startup early on (5/6th employee), developed their product and then led product initiatives both internally and externally for the company, acted as the right hand to the CEO to drive all the product initiatives and helped scale it to $100M GTV

Got 100k funded by my previous startup to build products in the fintech AI space. Startup didn't hit PMF, we shut down 2 months ago.

LOR:
Co-founder and CEO of the startup: Worked very closely with him for 3 years
Strategy lead of the Non-profit I'm working with: Haas alumni, knows me well

Post-MBA goal: Product role at an AI focused company Meta, Tesla or AI startups
Long term goal: Build my own venture in the AI space

For you as an Indian, male, engineer, do consider improving your GMAT to 705+. Your GPA is the lowest end of averages of T15/20 schools. So you need to give the schools something that will offset this. The rest is all about showcasing your multi-faceted profile that makes you a compelling / interesting candidate.

Overall, your significant work experience and unique extracurricular activities set you apart. While your GPA may present challenges, it can also be a hurdle. So consider retaking your GMAT and aiming for the 695-705 range. Your leadership experience, innovative projects, and clear post-MBA goals will help strengthen your application. Focus on delivering a well-rounded application that showcases your strengths and aligns with the values of your target programs. Good luck!

Hey figureitoutdg,

Vashi here from LilacBuds.

For Berkeley & UCLA you have very good chances of converting and your GMAT will certainly not be the reason for your rejection.
For Columbia it can be a little tricky. As seen post-Covid holistic profile is more important and you fit that bill with your current GMAT score for your application to be considered.
A lot will depend on how you present your essays and what is the content. Make sure that your essays reflect your strong professional experience. Play to your strengths.
Alum connect can be a game changer as we have observed in a lot of past results.

We at LilacBuds would love to assist you by connecting you to alums/ mentors of top B-schools and would therefore request more details about your profile. You can connect with our team for a detailed profile analysis at https://lilacbuds.com/services/mba-cour ... mpaign=GCV or leave a message on +91-84483 35484 for a direct reachout.
You can also share your CV on vashi.gupta@lilacbuds.com .

Hoping to hear from you.

Hi figureitoutdg
I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. A 675 FE seems decent for the schools you are targeting. However, your GPA looks below average for your target schools. You might have difficulty establishing your academic performance. If a 705 is possible, it would greatly enhance your chances.

Having KPMG under your resume is also a plus, now shifting your work to startups and managing a product might have left you with great numbers to impress the adcoms. Highlight IMPACT, demonstrate your leadership skills. Working on solar energy, vertical farming and your volunteering work would add diversity to your application.

To better assess your profile and provide more tailored advice, I recommend connecting for a detailed discussion.

Good Luck!

Hi. You are probably about 20 points below average looking at India-based admits just using the decision tracker. https://gmatclub.com/forum/decision-tra ... try=0&we=0
however, you have some good things going for you with the Startup, so maybe that will counter-balance it. The score is average for the programs but not your competitive pool unfortunately 😔
