4 years of Big 4 finance transformation consulting experience, primarily covering the energy sector. Aiming for strategy consulting post-MBA with long-term goals of being a leader of a renewable energy company. Also open to exploring roles outside of consulting in the renewable energy industry. Very solid undergrad ECs with multiple leadership experiences.
I think strong chances. Does your employer sponsor MBA applicants?
your undergrad EC's won't be as strongly weighed since it will be all about your recent work experience, how you compared to your peers, and what you were putting your time into. Having promotions or projects where you took initiatives helps (if you can't put that on the resume as a promotion/leadership position, make sure to mention in the essays and remind your recommender about it so they include it).
Your Score and GPA are solid and awesome for a US applicant, so should be competitive. It will be all about your resume basically. The essays help but they don't get you in alone so to speak, they just help show the depth of your profile or at least that's my latest theory.
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, a 695 is a strong score while GPA is decent too. Now with 4 years in finance transformation consulting at a Big 4, I assume that you would have developed a strong consulting background that aligns well with your post-MBA goal of shifting into strategy consulting. You have mentioned strong ECs, do they add diversity to your profile or help you demonstrate your social responsibility to the adcoms?

Good Luck!
With 4 years of Big 4 experience in finance transformation consulting, a GMAT Focus score of 695, and a GPA of 3.6, you have a solid profile for MBA programs that emphasize consulting and leadership. Your background in finance transformation and undergrad leadership experience positions you well for strategy consulting, particularly if you showcase your project impact and progression in responsibility. Given your goal to stay in consulting, you shall consider your target schools with strong consulting placements, such as Kellogg, Tuck, Duke Fuqua, and Darden.
You can strengthen your application by highlighting specific project outcomes, especially where your role directly impacted clients or transformed business processes, as well as your leadership contributions within the firm. If feasible, emphasize any strategic projects or complex client engagements to illustrate your readiness for post-MBA consulting roles. As we don’t have much knowledge about your work experience, we won't be able to comment much.
If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in depth and your chances to some good B- schools in detail.
Cheers!
