I have completed my Bachelors in Engineering with CGPA 8.54/10.

After graduation, I worked in a coaching institute and prepared for civil services exam for 2 years.

Then I took up the job in Public Sector Bank.
I have 7.5 years of experience in Public Sector Bank in Foreign Exchange and Trade Finance.

So my total work experience will be 9.5 years.

My GMAT FE Score is apparently less, I have already attempted twice and it is 595.

I am planning to apply for one year MBA programs in Europe and Singapore for 2025 Intake.
I would require suggestions on profile shift after MBA and probable schools I can try for.

And I would also want to know, if my age will be an impediment, presently I am 30 years old.

It is a bit of a tricky GMAT score but looking at your work experience, it may be OK/good enough.
For Europe age is a good thing, so 30 years (even in the US) is not really an issue or a problem. 32 or 33 would be getting up there. Your biggest considerations will be your GMAT score but I think it is OK. These programs are not super concerned about the scores as they don't release averages to anyone.

P.S. It would improve your chances if you make your post-MBA goal very achievable and easy to transition to. You have to think about how you will find a job and what will be the source of that job offer. You should not count on the school delivering it to you (they prefer that you don't as that puts expectations on them to deliver and perform in the future, something they can't predict) so you want to emphasize as much as possible that you have identified where you want to work, already networking with people, and almost have that job in your pocket, just need this small formality of an MBA. Hope that makes sense.

I have received offer from EDHEC Global MBA and awaiting decision from Mannheim , SDA Bocconi and RSM as well. I am looking to transition into Consulting or Finance. Can you help with your insights, which is a better school for finance / consulting. Because the EDHEC scholarship deadline is nearer and I have requested to the school, to extend the scholarship deadline because others said I would receive the outcome by Mid - May.

Hi @vaishmahe , I hope you are doing well! With 9.5 years of professional experience, including 7.5 years in retail banking with expertise in foreign exchange and trade finance, and a strong academic background (GPA 8.5/10 in engineering), you bring significant depth to an MBA application. Your diverse journey, including a stint preparing for civil services and transitioning into banking, adds a unique dimension to your profile. However, your GMAT score of 595 may pose a challenge for competitive one-year MBA programs in Europe and Singapore. To strengthen your candidacy, focus on clearly articulating your leadership experiences, professional achievements, and post-MBA goals in finance. If feasible, consider retaking the GMAT aiming for a higher score or exploring schools that take a holistic view of applications. Highlighting your maturity, adaptability, and readiness for senior roles will be critical to overcoming perceived challenges like age or test scores. You can take a look at this Blog.

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a 1:1 call with you to discuss your profile in detail. Please feel free to schedule a profile evaluation call according to your convenience.

Hi vaishmahe
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your GMAT score is below the average for schools like INSEAD, HEC Paris, and NUS. However, your 9+ years of experience and unique perspective can help your profile stand out amidst the pool of applicants. Age shouldn't be a barrier. Also, have you had any international exposure or led impactful projects which might catch the eye of the adcoms?
