I work at my family's legacy financial services firm. Diversified its operations from traditional tax advisory & litigations to Startup advisory, project financing, and India entry services sectors.

Alongside my corporate career, I have been associated with politics. I was the Policy Advisor to Honorable Member of Parliament's office for 2 years. Post that role, I was appointed as the State Coordinator for my party's state unit for the state assembly elections. Currently, I am serving as the General Secretary of India's GOP state unit, overseeing the communications and social media departments.

Very low undergrad CGPA: 2.15/4

Certifications:

Chartered Accountant
Company Secretary
CFA Level 2

Advisor to India's most prominent social impact platform, which has over 250,000 NGOs, 20,000 CSR-donating corporates, and 200,000 social entrepreneurs, is on its digital platform. Was the founding team member of the social sector startup founded by a Padma Shri awardee (India's 4th highest civilian award)

I am a member of various associations/lobby groups in the financial services industry and global business networking forums.

GMAT FE: 755 (100th percentile)

Short-term post-MBA focus: To work in US political consulting firms such as Precision Strategies/GSG or join the Public Sector consulting roles at MBB.

Long-term goal: Move back to India and get work in political strategy and campaign management roles in Delhi at my party's HQ. (Dream: Lead Campaign manager of my party)

Oh! Insane GMAT score! 🤯
Your profile appears very unique with the goal that you have so I have little to offer there but this will be very refreshing for AdCom's and it is great that you are planning to continue your current path. and since you have about 6 years since graduation, that GPA can be explained, hopefully with some good reasons and clearly some great achievements since. Looks like lessons were learned!

P.S. You don't really need to convert your GPA to the 4.0 scale and can leave it as your original/native.

Thanks for your comment, bb! I received an interview invite from Kellogg and nowhere else for the R2. Should I be concerned, or is it just early days? It has been a week since I submitted most of my applications.

It’s not going to help to be concerned but we’re very early on in the interview release season. Must’ve your chosen programs haven’t gotten to releasing.

Kellogg is very fast and liberal in their interview invitations. Others are not so you can prep for the cow interview and I think expect others 🤞

The arrow has left the bow already, however - did you check if US political consulting firm like Precision hire international MBAs? School can only go by what you stated as your goal and at least Precision Strategies does not appear in USCIS data. Secondly, IMHO, your why MBA for such a career will be crucial to convince the adcoms. Unless you evaluated and rejected, MPP may well be a better route for your objectives than MBA. It's still early days for R2 interview calls. Best wishes.
And well done for the GMAT score.

That is a big question and I assume the OP checked though the political consulting is likely very very niche, so there is no "norm" or "standard".... they hire specific networked people rather than MBA's (just a guess)
