After completing my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (94.68%) in 2018, I joined Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and worked from 2018 to 2024, progressing from a Diploma Engineer Trainee to a Planning & Control Engineer. My role involved project scheduling, MIS and cost control, procurement coordination, and ISO documentation for multi-state water supply projects.
While working full-time, I pursued AMIE (Mechanical Engineering) from The Institution of Engineers (India), completing it in 2023 to gain deeper theoretical understanding and an accredited engineering qualification. Later, I transitioned to full-time study to complete my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (First Class, CGPA 7.79) from JNTU Kakinada (Helapuri Institute of Technology & Science), graduating in August 2025.
Driven by a strong analytical mindset and on-ground project management experience, my goal is to pursue an MBA in the 2026–2028 cycle to transition into leadership roles in Finance, Business Analytics, Operations Strategy, or Digital Transformation, where I can blend engineering expertise with data-driven management and strategic decision-making.
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a strong, well-structured profile, the kind that shows steady career growth, academic persistence, and real grit. Coming from L&T with 6 years in large-scale infrastructure projects gives you great project management and leadership exposure, which will stand out to schools like INSEAD and ESSEC.
Balancing full-time work with AMIE and then a B.Tech shows solid commitment, though your GPA is decent but not exceptional, so a strong GMAT score will really help your case. Your story of moving from real estate engineering to tech and business analytics makes sense, especially if you can link it to data-driven decision-making or digital transformation from your L&T experience.
You could strengthen your profile by adding more extracurricular or community involvement, AdComs at INSEAD value global mindset and leadership beyond work. Overall, you’re on the right track, with a solid test score and clear post-MBA narrative, you’ll be competitive for INSEAD MIM/MBA and ESSEC.
I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Good Luck!
Your profile reflects impressive perseverance and continuous growth, combining six years at Larsen & Toubro with parallel academic advancement. Rising from a Diploma Engineer Trainee to Senior Planning & Control Engineer on large-scale infrastructure projects shows strong execution, discipline, and project management skills. Pursuit of AMIE and later a B.Tech while working full-time demonstrates grit and academic commitment—qualities MBA programs value. Your 7.8 GPA is decent; GMAT - you should aim for a 685+ score to strengthen your application and stay competitive for top-tier programs. The planned pivot from engineering and project control to business analytics or digital transformation is logical, but you should clearly connect your operational experience to data-driven decision-making in essays. Adding leadership examples, highlighting measurable project outcomes will further enhance impact.
