Hey all, looking for some honest feedback on my profile as I prep for Round 2 apps this cycle. Targeting Johnson, Stern, Duke, and SDA Bocconi.

I’m Italian (born and raised), moved to the U.S. for college, and have been working in NYC ever since. Planning to go back to school Fall 2026, so I’ll have about 5 years of experience by then.
Quick stats:
GMAT Focus: 615 (within middle 80% for Cornell and Bocconi, a bit low for Stern). Retaking soon, should be able to hit 645+ this time.
GPA: 3.4 from CUNY Hunter College (Economics)
Men’s soccer team; recognized at athletics banquet.
Work experience:
Started as a Logistics Analyst and moved up to a Strategic Account Manager role at a global logistics firm in NYC. Worked on projects with our Milan office.
Outside of work:
I coach youth soccer in NYC and mentor Punjabi–Italian teenagers.
Post-MBA goal:
I want to join a consulting firm focusing on supply chain and operations strategy.
Would love your thoughts on how competitive I am for these 4 schools and how much raising my GMAT might move the needle. Really would love to get my MBA in the US (with the exception for Bocconi) so I am also open to other schools suggestions that should be within reach.

Hi lavjit99, here's my take:
Operations/ Logistics>>> consulting is a viable career path. You will still need to connect the dots in your goals essay - why move from industry to consulting? What is the motivation and what kind of impact do you wish to create going forward? What transferable skills will you bring to the new role? And how will this role lead you to the long term goal?.

Work experience- you haven't mentioned any details here. The things to highlight in the application would be - your career progression over 5 years, your achievements in $$ value, stories that show how you used your leadership skills to make impact on people an don business objectives. Five years is good enough time for you to have a few solid hits from your work exp.

The ECAs sound alright. I like the soccer continuity between college and current-day as it reflects deep passion. Mentoring Punjabi-Italian teenagers sounds differentiated. Just wondering if you have some impactful stories of helping someone turnaround their lives through your mentorship. Also thinking of how you got involved with this demographic? Are you a Punjabi yourself and saw some gaps that needed to be addressed?

As this point, everything else looks good but the GMAT score is woefully low. If you can bring this up to 675+ it would make you competitive at so many more b-schools. There is no dearth of choice when you are targeting a post MBA consulting role- A higher GMAT score can bring you access to most T15 MBA programs. So, I will suggest you put in your best effort in the GMAT prep and really smash this.
