Hey
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, with 6 years of experience, you actually bring a strong professional foundation, but the GPA will definitely be a hurdle at the schools on your list, especially Kellogg, Columbia, Yale, Ross, and Stern, where academics are a major filter.

You will need a very strong GMAT/GRE to counterbalance that, plus sharp essays explaining your trajectory and academic readiness. Your work experience in procurement is relevant and valued, especially for programs strong in operations and leadership like Darden, Fuqua, Broad, Owen, and Tepper, where your profile is more aligned and realistic. Execution + test score will play a crucial role.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

Thanks for sharing your profile @MadelineB98! You’ve got a good core (UT Austin, Boeing, 5–6 years in supply chain/procurement, female candidate), but your GPA and lack of a test score (yet) are the big variables for the schools you’ve listed. A strong test score is absolutely critical to balance the 2.9 GPA. Your list is almost all top-15 US schools. With a 2.9 GPA, you will need a high test score (GMAT FE 675+ / GRE 325+), and they can become “reachable with a great story”. You can read this blog: Navigating Low GMAT/GPA Scores in MBA Applications

Given your background in procurement + Boeing, you can be aligned with: Ross, Darden, Fuqua, Tepper, Broad, operations/supply chain/leadership-heavy cultures.

Explain the GPA (if there’s a story). If there are real reasons (working a lot, illness, family issues, bad first year, but upward trend), use the optional essay briefly and factually. Highlight any strong later-term grades, quant courses, or post-grad coursework. Show leadership in the supply chain. Don’t undersell yourself as “just a procurement agent.” Focus on:Cost savings, negotiations, supplier strategy, cross-functional work with engineering/finance/ops, any mentoring/leading initiatives, even informally.

A few questions for you to reflect upon:
1) Do you have a target function post-MBA? (Ops consulting, internal strategy, supply chain leadership, procurement, etc.)
2) Have you already taken any practice tests for GMAT/GRE? If so, what rough range are you scoring in?
3) Any upward trend in your undergraduate grades ( stronger junior/senior years)?

We’d love to learn more about your academics, extracurriculars, work experience, and personal journey so we can provide a tailored profile evaluation and honest school assessment. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.
