[ For my profile evaluation, please tell me
1) If i should retake my gmat and what score would be a safe one
2)what can I be doing to add to my profile in terms of extra-curricular activities and/or projects, I used to compete in taekwondo in school and during my break year I was involved in teaching self-defense but have not done that in years. I give tuitions to kids in my colony to make ends meet but it is genuinely something that brings me joy. not sure how that can tie into the mba story. I want to pivot towards business strategy and/or entrepreneurship, work at someplace that brings meaning and passion into my life, perhaps make some real impact. ]
This is a solid early-career consulting profile with real leadership and social impact, not just checkbox internships.
What works well
Dean’s List twice + High Distinction → strong academic signal despite tier-2 college
Startup with visually impaired artisans → genuine impact + entrepreneurship, very MBA-friendly
Big 4 internship + niche consulting (bankruptcy, crypto, pharma, renewables) → good problem exposure
Early promotion to Associate → positive trajectory
Treasurer role → actual responsibility, not fluff
What needs tightening
GMAT is the swing factor (you didn’t mention the score, which itself is a red flag in apps)
If targeting top programs: aim for 695–715 GMAT Focus as a “safe” range
Work ex is still on the lower side → schools will expect clarity of direction, not exploration
On extra-curriculars
Teaching self-defence + tutoring kids = keep this. It fits perfectly with your impact narrative
Don’t add random stuff now. Deepen one thread: education, empowerment, or access
Taekwondo only matters if you re-engage meaningfully (coaching, competitions, NGO tie-ups)
Story angle that works
Consulting + restructuring → strategy exposure
Social venture + teaching → purpose
MBA → scaling impact through strategy / entrepreneurship (not vague “passion”)
I’d be happy to walk you through where you stand for your target schools, GMAT strategy, and how to sharpen this story into a compelling application.
