Hello everyone,

I am Siddhant Kaval. I am new to the GMAT Club. I desperately need help on the RC section.
On an average i can solve only 3 RCs in the specified time of 1.15 hours. I always end up randomly guessing on the 4th RC.
Also the accuracy in the 3 RCs is pathetic. I somehow do better in the science topic RCs .

Rest i get 80% of the SCs right and 70-80% of the CRs right. But my score in RCS is always below 50%. I know my score will improve if i do better in my RCs.

Request you all to help me out in RC section of the verbal exam.

Thanks and Regards,
Siddhant Kaval

Hi SiddhantKaval,

RC is the most generic aspect of the GMAT, i.e. it is not test specific. There is only one way to improve your reading comprehension: read. If you have all grammar aspects covered, only reading will lead you further. I've researched that biography is the best genre to pick up the common language. Other than that, read the Economist and Scientific American. However, their articles are very demanding. Don't pace yourself at start, go to the next article only after you have fully understood the present one. I do not mean to read one paper and check the progress - only after having understood significant amount of text the skills will improve, I mean 5-10-20 books. Get informed about skim reading. You shall find this interesting too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexile.
