Disposable diapers, while a convenience, are an environmental disaster. If people would use cloth diapers instead of those made of disposable paper, much less paper would be produced saving millions of trees each year. Therefore, people should go back to buying, washing and reusing cloth diapers and Earth’s precious natural resources would not be consumed so rapidly.

This argument depends of which of the following assumptions?

a. Cloth diapers are never disposed of.
b. The current trend in infant care is doing things “the old-fashioned way.”
c. The process of washing cloth diapers consumes less natural resources than that of using disposable diapers.
d. Modern people like their conveniences more than anything else.
e. The annual cost to the consumer of using cloth diapers is only 20% the annual cost of using disposable diapers.

Premise - disposable diapers disaster, instead use cloth diapers, disposable paper diapers -more trees cut.

Conclusion - use cloth diapers and earth 's natural resources (trees) would not be consumed so rapidly.

A restatement of premise.assumption should pose a new inf.

B we aren't concerned about current trend ; our main concern is saving natural resources by using cloth diapers
An assumption choice should pass negation test and support conclusion. This option is good for nothing.

C if we negate it, the conclusion is shattered.
What is the point in using cloth diapers if it consumes more natural resources than disposable paper diapers.

D this is a weaken answer choice.if this is true the conclusion is weakened.

E This can be a strengthen choice but not an assumption choice.Because our concern is saving natural resources and not saving money.
Let us negate this choice : cloth diapers cost more than disposable diapers.
Conclusion is people should go back to buying, washing and reusing cloth diapers and earth s natural resources would not be consumed so rapidly.
So this E option is not breaking the conclusion.we are reusing the cloth diapers .its a one time investment.

The argument starts with the suggestion that people should revert to cloth diapers to reduce the number of tree cot down to produce disposable diapers.
So far, this claim sounds convincing. However, there is a big leap to conclude that doing so WILL help save Earth's precious natural resources.
We just only know one thing that such a change can reduce the number of trees cut down, not the overall or generic natural resources.

a. Cloth diapers are never disposed of: Least concerned as the article is about difference between disposed and clothed diapers.
So we can't be concerned about disposal nature of Cloth diapers.

b. The current trend in infant care is doing things “the old-fashioned way.” : Then there would not have been any issues.

c. The process of washing cloth diapers consumes less natural resources than that of using disposable diapers.
That hits the point "natural resources" consumption.

d. Modern people like their conveniences more than anything else.
No concern about what modern people like.

e. The annual cost to the consumer of using cloth diapers is only 20% the annual cost of using disposable diapers.
Out of context.
