I would recommend picking up a MGMAT book on CR and reading through it at least 3 times. It will help a lot.

CR reflects how you approach the question and the way you thought about it. How about you have a study peer to show you how they think whenever they meet a CR question. You might discover what is different from your friend's opinion and gradually adjust your logical method of thinking.

Start with Foundations of GMAT Verbal. You can purchase it here: https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-GMAT ... 1937707016

It has several chapters that will walk you through the basics of how an argument is put together and what the different terms mean. Terms like 'assumption' have very specific meanings on the GMAT that aren't always obvious and aren't really taught in school - if you know exactly what the GMAT means by those terms you'll have an advantage.
