Dear GMAT Club Community,
I need urgent help and advice. I am Harshitha from Vijayawada, India. My GMAT score was cancelled with a T code and absolutely no specific reason given.
MY SITUATION IN BRIEF
I took a full one year gap specifically to prepare for GMAT and attended a coaching center with complete dedication. I come from a lower middle class family and had to take a loan of ₹35,400 just to pay the exam fee. I have MBA applications due November 2026 and this cancellation is completely destroying my entire timeline and future plans.
WHAT HAPPENED ON MAY 31 2026
I took the exam from a private room in my hostel. The proctor approved my environment more than 5 times. During my last section the proctor asked me to move the table. I honestly told him it was fixed and immediately moved my chair instead. The proctor then did a complete 360 degree check from the new position and was fully satisfied. He gave me zero warnings throughout the entire exam. At the end the proctor confirmed my unofficial score as final. He also told me "I will contact you" but I never heard from him again.
Environmental factors were beyond my control. There was occasional corridor noise from other hostel residents and brief internet fluctuation only during the initial checks. My eye movements were only due to checking the on screen timer because of exam anxiety.
THE PROBLEM
The cancellation email arrived just 36 hours after my exam over a weekend with only a vague mention of irregularities and no specific reason whatsoever. I filed a comprehensive appeal explaining everything. It was acknowledged on June 3 and rejected on June 4 in less than 24 hours again with no specific explanation. Just "final and binding."
I strongly believe this was an automated system decision because 36 hours over a weekend is simply not enough time to review a 2 hour exam video. The human proctor who watched me live had absolutely zero concerns.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY
- Has anyone received a free retest or refund after a T code cancellation?
- Has anyone successfully reached GMAC senior leadership?
- Any advice given my November MBA deadline?
- What is the fastest path forward from here?
I am a genuine student who did nothing wrong. One year of my life, my family's hard earned money taken on loan and my November MBA dream are all at stake because of an automated decision made in 36 hours over a weekend.
Any help, advice or support would mean everything to me. Please also tag anyone else who might be able to help. 🙏
