Dear All,
Wanted to share a collated interview debrief of a few applicants whom I helped prepare for their in-person Georgetown McDonough interview in New Delhi last week.
- Tell me something about yourself that is not part of your CV / application materials
- Why did you move from a growth role at a Startup to a more established organization? Are you a risk averse person?
- What value do you add to your current employer?
- Why MBA from Georgetown?
- Since I gave reference to discussion with an alumnus, I was asked in what context do I know her and what was the theme of the discussion I had
- Why MBA now?
- ST and LT goals
- Behavioral questions:
o Some from the past, some in terms of made up challenging situations, like how would I go about things.
o What would you do you if you found out your company has found out a loop hole in the accounting practices and exploiting it to boost its P&L no.
o The leadership at your firm has decided to downsize your entire team by 40% and has asked you to convey this development in person to your teammates. How will you handle the discussions.
- Do you think you have the quantitative aptitude to excel in the program, given that it’s quant heavy
Note that the interviews were chaired by Miss Katherine Chan, Assistant Director of MBA Admissions at Georgetown.
Feel free to reach out to us in case you are considering applying to McDonough in R2 / have an upcoming interview and need help with drafting essays / LOR or participating in mock interviews.
Cheers and Best of Luck !
