Hi Shiva,

With your score goal, there are a number of different Quant/Verbal score combinations that will get you to that level, so you could pick up the necessary points in just the Quant section, just the Verbal section or a combination of the two.

Many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) on their studies, so it's likely that you just have not put in enough time and effort yet. A late December Test Date still gives you plenty of time to study, but you might want to book your Test Date now, so that you can choose the exact day and time that best fits your schedule.

1) When you took your CATs, did you take the ENTIRE CAT (including the Essay and IR sections).
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

I suggest a systematic (even methodical) approach, in which you take the time to master each topic/concept (e.g., percents, ratios, assumption questions in critical reasoning, comparison questions in sentence correction, etc).

So, for each topic/concept, you should:
1) Learn the underlying concepts (rules, attributes, notation, etc.)
2) Learn GMAT-specific strategies related to that topic
3) Practice dozens of questions all related to that one topic.
4) Don't stop working on that topic until you have mastered it

Then, and only then, move on to the next topic.

You should also spend a lot of time reviewing the responses from the Experts on this site. They often model the steps one should take when tackling problems.

In addition to learning the core concepts and GMAT-specific strategies, be sure to work on your endurance and test-taking skills (e.g., time management) by taking several practice tests. If you're interested, we have a free GMAT time management video at https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/general-gmat-strategies?id=1244

Brent

I have some more queries regarding my bschool application. Can I apply for colleges for 3 round which opens for a few in Jan?Or is it better to apply next year first round. Is it possible to get a scholarship for a 1 Year executive MBA in US?

Hi Shiva,

You're ultimately asking Admissions questions now, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

ask-admission-consultants-124/

You'll probably have to provide more information than what you've listed in this post, but those Experts should be able to offer you the insight that you're looking for.

Hi shivaprasadkamath,

Schools generally discourage international students to apply in Round 3 as there might be some problems with the VISA processing.
Also, since most if the class is full by Round 3, chances of a scholarship and admission decrease significantly in the R3.

If you can wait for another year, I would recommend you to apply in the R1 cycle for next year.
