You will not find anything exact regarding breakdown of problems. All of the prep programs offer a range of problems to expect.

My advice: Don't have expectations. Make sure you're well versed in all question types so you don't crash and burn on the test.

Thanks for the replies. I will make sure to cover all areas pretty good.

Could you elaborate a little bit for me the "range of problems to expect from each category". I did not see anything in OG about it, and I have been working in a nova prep book where it mentioned something about how 1/5 of the quant questions might be from geometry. But I haven't been able to find out any other info. Maybe you could point me in the right direction of a book or link that would be able to help me. Thanks.

??

mohater's reply was that no such approximation on # of problems per section exists, and that it varies from test to test. he also basically said to study everything and not focus on the breakdown per section.

hey bigpete... if you check the Quant basics section in the OG12 (I assume OG11 has it too) that gives a rough breakdown of pretty much all the quant fundamentals you need. These include number properties, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, etc etc... It even has a section on the various word problems and how to address them. It does not have questions for these though.

I haven't had experience in nova or MGMAT or anything else except Kaplan premier 2010 and that has quant section which basically covers the same stuff that OG12 does but with more examples and questions so maybe give something like that a shot...

Range of problems = # of each problem type.

Don't put too much focus on "knowing what to expect". You can find plenty of resources like this one that try and break down the general problem type like this one:
https://www.west.net/~stewart/gmat/gmglance.htm

...but I wouldn't try to dig much deeper than that.
