nkhl.goyal your explanation is not correct. You're saying that the correct sentence would be "She had slept the phone rang"?

Hi, "She had slept the phone rang" is wrong. I mean to say that in when is not the correct usage with "had". We need a marker to tell the sequence of events.
"She had slept before the phone rang" can be correct.

Am I right now? If not, please correct me :).
