Is x-y+1 greater than x+y-1?

(1) x>0
(2) y<0





I don't have the OA to this problem. Would someone please tell me the OA so that I can satisfy my curiosity?
I'll highly appreciate it.

Consider (1) : x>0
now it does not indicate whether y is +ve or -ve hence say y=3,x=3=> x-y+1 > x+y-1 is false
now say ,y=-1,x=1 => x-y+1 > x+y-1 is true => insufficient

(2) : y<0 => x can be >0 or <0 => x-y+1 > x+y-1 is true always
since here x is increased by some value in LHS when y is -ve and RHS is decreased by some value ,even if x is -ve or positive its value
is shifted along number line LHS>RHS always => sufficient

how about this - write the problem as
is x -(y-1) > x+ (y-1) ?
if 2 is given, y-1 is always negative hence (2) is enough
