Please explain. I never had problem with this type of questions...perhaps some mental block.

You can rewrite:

5^m*4^18 = 2*10^35
= 2*2^35*5^35
= 2^36*5^35
= (2^2)^18*5^35
= 4^18*5^35

(1/5)^m *(1/4)18 = 1/ 2(10)^35

--> (1/5)^m *(1/2)36 = 1/ 2(10)^35
--> 1/2*(1/5)^m* (1/2)35 = 1/ 2(10)^35
m=35
