If 12 ounces of strong solution of vinegar is mixed with 50 ounces of water to form three percent vinegar, what was the original strength of the vinegar solution?

Total volume = 62 oz

3% makes $$\frac{3}{100} * 62 = \frac {93}{50}$$

% of vinegar in original =

$$\frac {93*100}{50*12}$$= 15.5
