If 12 ounces of strong solution of vinegar is mixed with 50 ounces of water to form three percent vinegar, what was the original strength of the vinegar solution?

19.3

16.67

15.5

12.5

Total volume = 62 oz

3% makes \(\frac{3}{100} * 62 = \frac {93}{50}\)

% of vinegar in original =

\(\frac {93*100}{50*12}\)= 15.5
