If \((13 - \frac{5}{4})^x = 1\) what is the value of \(x\)?

A. 0

B. 1/13

C. 1/5

D. 4/5

E. 5/4

(1-13)

Any entity becomes 1 if it is raised to the power '0'.
Hence (13 - 5/4) becomes 1 only when x = 0.

Answer (A).

A. 0

B. 1/13

C. 1/5

D. 4/5

E. 5/4

(1-13)

Since the base (13 - 5/4) is greater than 1, the only power to which it can be raised to yield 1 as the answer is 0.

Answer: A

Let's analyse the question first:

In right hand side we have positive value, so left hand side has to have positive value as well.

Now, 13> 5/4; therefore only way to get 1 is to make the power of the equation 0.

Hence A is the answer
