From statement (1), we know b is negative, and we given that a^5 b^6 c^7>0, from this , both a and c are either positive or negative. If both are negative, ab is positive and if positive ab is negative. So A and D are out.
From statement (2), c is positive. We given that a^5 b^6 c^7>0, from this a must be positive. But we do not know the sign of b. So B is out.
From statement (1) and (2), b is negative and c is positive. So a is also positive.
Answer:C
