Since the furnace uses 40 gallons in a week, the daily consumption must be \(\frac{40}{7}\) gallons.

In 10 days, the furnace will be \(\frac{40}{7}*10 = \frac{400}{7}\) = approximately 57(Option C)

\(\frac{40gals}{7days}=\frac{Xgals}{10 days}\)

\(7X = 400\)

\(X\approx{57.1}\approx{57}\)

40/7 is ~5.7 and then for 10 days, it'll be 57.

So answer choice would be C?
