Since the furnace uses 40 gallons in a week, the daily consumption must be $$\frac{40}{7}$$ gallons.

In 10 days, the furnace will be $$\frac{40}{7}*10 = \frac{400}{7}$$ = approximately 57(Option C)

$$\frac{40gals}{7days}=\frac{Xgals}{10 days}$$

$$7X = 400$$

$$X\approx{57.1}\approx{57}$$

40/7 is ~5.7 and then for 10 days, it'll be 57.

So answer choice would be C?
