If all variables are positive, is (w/x) > (y/z)?

(1) w = y + 50
(2) x = z + 50

Question: Is \(wz>xy\)?

(1) \((y+50)z>xy\). We don't know the values of \(x,y\) and \(z\). Not sufficient.

(2) \(wz>(z+50)y\). Again, we don't know the values of \(w,y\) and \(z\). Not sufficient.

Combined, we have \((y+50)z>(z+50)y\) or \(z>y\). Not sufficient.

Answer: E

As we need to compare both Num. and Den. to reach to a conclusion.

\(\frac{a+X}{b+X} > \frac{a}{b}\)

Hello

Referring to the highlighted part - that only happens when a/b is a proper fraction (meaning if a < b).
But if we have a case where both x/y are positive and x > y THEN x/y will be greater than (x+50)/(y+50)
