Hi Bunuel, thank you very much for your answer.
Why you take h(88) not h(77) in the last section? I don't get it.

Thank you!

That was a typo. Edited. Than you.

If f(x) =3x for x>=15, f(x) = 7x for x<15 , g(x) = |2x+3| & h(x) =5 -7x, then what is the value of f(g(h(2))) - h(f(g(-7)))?

A. -210
B. 579
C. 0
D. 9
E. 713

Let's deal with \(f(g(h(2)))\) first:

\(h(x) =5 -7x\), so \(h(2) = 5 - 7*2 = -9\).

\(g(x) = |2x+3|\), so \(g(-9) = |2*(-9) + 3| = 15\).

\(f(x) =3x\) for \(x \geq 15\), so \(f(15) = 45\).

Now, \(h(f(g(-7)))\):

\(g(x) = |2x+3|\), so \(g(-7) = |2*(-7) + 3| = 11\).

\(f(x) =7x\) for \(x < 15\), so \(f(11) = 77\).

\(h(x) =5 -7x\), so \(h(77) = 5 - 7*77 = -534\).

Thus, \(f(g(h(2))) - h(f(g(-7)))= 45 - (-534)=579\).

Answer: B.

HI Bunuel,
Should'nt it be x>15, instead of \(f(x) =7x\) for \(x < 15\), so \(f(11) = 77\) as g(-7) is 11 and so less than 15?
