$$f(x)=x^3-5$$

$$f(k)=k^3-5=3$$

$$=>k^3=8 => k=2$$

f(x) = x^3 − 5

and

f(k) = 3

So, $$x^3 - 5 = 3$$

$$x^3 = 8$$

$$x^3 = 2^3$$

Since f(k) = 3, we substitute k for x in the function x^3 − 5, obtaining :

k^3 - 5 = 3

k^3 = 8

k = 2
