3. f(x) = $$2 - x - x^2$$

5. f(x) = $$(1-x) / (2 + x)$$

The answer is C. The question is asking for a function symmetric about x=-0.5. A, D & E are not even functions, so they can't be symmetric. B is symmetric about 0. And C simplifies to

2.25-(x+0.5)^2.

Thus it is symmetric about x= -0.5.
