If n is 2-digit positive integer, n=?
1) n is the product of 6 prime numbers.
(2) n is divisible by 6.

1) n is the product of 6 prime numbers.

so n can be=2*2*2*2*2*2=64 or
n can be 2*2*2*2*2*3=96
cannot be other numbers else it will become three digit
say n=2*2*2*2*2*5=160 so not possible
n=2*2*2*2*3*3=144 so not possible

2)can be 12,18,24..............

Combine

from frst we know n can be 64 or 96 but 2nd says it must b divisble by 6 so only 96 is divisble by 6 not 64 so C i.e n=96

If n is 2-digit positive integer, n=?

(1) n is the product of 6 prime numbers.
(2) n is divisible by 6.

1) n is the product of 6 prime numbers.

It means n should be a two digit no, which is also a pdt of 6 prime nos. No restriction vis-a-vis whether they are distinct, same etc etc

Therefore n can be=2*2*2*2*2*2=64 or n can be 2*2*2*2*2*3=96
If u use any other no, the product will not remain a 2 digit no.
Let us try with some examples , ex. n=2*2*2*2*2*5=160
n=2*2*2*3*3*3=216......

Not sufficient

2) divisible by 6 means n can be 12,18,24, 30,36, etc......Not sufficient

Combining (1) and (2)

As per statement (1) b can be 64 or 96
As per statement (2) n is divisible by 6.
Ans is 96..............
Correct option s C

If n is 2-digit positive integer, n=?

(1) n is the product of 6 prime numbers.
(2) n is divisible by 6.

N= A*B where both A and B are +ve integers ( given)

From 1: N= A*B can be ( product of (2^5 or 2^5*3 ) so many multiple answers not sufficient....

From 2: n can be any 2 digit value viz. 12,18,24,30.... not sufficient

From 1&2 : we need to find a no. which is product of 6 prime nos and is also divisible by 6 so only possible no is 2^5*3= 96.. IMO C Re: If n is 2-digit positive integer, n=? (1) n is the product of 6 prime   [#permalink] 23 Nov 2018, 18:26
