Question: What is the total amount they together spend per month = s+d = ?

Statement 1: Dave spends $100 more per month than Suzy spends per month.

d = 100+s but s is unknown hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: It takes Suzy seven months to spend the same amount that Dave spends in six months

7s = 6d but no exact value of d and s can be calculated hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining the two statements

7s = 6d and d = 100+s

i.e. 7s = 6(100+s)

i.e. unique values of d and s may be calculated hence

SUFFICIENT

Answer: Option C

Let salary of Dave be D and suzy be S
We need to find is D+S

Frm stament 1:
D=S+100

two unknown values hence insufficient.
Stmnt 2:

7s=6d
insufficient

Combining both stmnts
7s = 6d
d = 100+s
7s=6(100+s)
s=600
d=700
per month expense D+S=1300$

IMO C
