If $$t = –5k$$, what is $$t^2 – 2t$$ in terms of k ?

25k² + 10k

25k² – 10k

5k² + 10k

–5k² + 10k

–5k² – 10k

$$t^2 – 2t = (–5k)^2 -2(–5k)$$

Or, $$t^2 – 2t = 25k^2 + 10k$$; Answer must be (A)

A) 25k² + 10k

B) 25k² – 10k

C) 5k² + 10k

D) –5k² + 10k

We know t = -5k
t² – 2t = (-5k)² - 2(-5k) = 25k² + 10k
