360 is good option to try because it divisible by both 3 and 8 and it fits.

Taking LCM
X/3+X/8+15 = X/2
(8x+3x+360)/24 = x/2
(11x+360)*2=24x
22x+720=24x
2x=720
X=360
Answer is D

Solution



Given
In this question, we are given that
    • An equation: x/3 + x/8 + 15 = x/2

To find
We need to determine
    • The value of x

Approach and Working out
Multiplying both sides of the equation by 24, we get
    • 24 (x/3 + x/8 + 15) = 24 * x/2
    Or, 8x + 3x + 360 = 12x
    Or, 11x + 360 = 12x
    Or, x = 360

Thus, option D is the correct answer.

Correct Answer: Option D

Multiplying the given equation by 24, we have:

8x + 3x + 360 = 12x

360 = x

Answer: D

\(\frac{x}{3} + \frac{x}{8} + 15 = \frac{x}{2}\)

Or, \(\frac{x}{3} + \frac{x}{8} - \frac{x}{2}= -15 \)

Or, \(\frac{8x +3x -12x}{24}= -15 \)

Or, \(\frac{-x}{24}= -15 \)

Or, \(x = 360\), Answer must be (D)

\(\frac{x}{3} + \frac{x}{8} + 15 = \frac{x}{2}\)
\(\frac{x}{2}-\frac{x}{3}-\frac{x}{8}=15\)
\(\frac{12x-8x-3x}{24=15}\)
\(11x=24*15\)
\(x=360\)

Answer D
