Stat1: \(x^y*y^x = 1\), There are two situations possible 1) x^y = 1 and y^x = 1 ; x =y =1 and, 2) x^y = -1 and y^x =-1 ; x =y =-1. Not sufficient.
Stat2: \(x = y\), Not sufficient
Combining both, we still have x= 1 or -1. Not sufficient
So, I think E.
