Question tells us that x can be 8, 27, 64, 125.

Statement 1 tells that the no. is even so we are left with 8, 64 but since we don't have a definite answer, Statement 1 is insufficient.

Statement 2 tells us that no. is also a square. Only 64 is the no. which satisfies this condition. So Sufficient.

Option B is correct.

Is 2 and 200 inclusive here? As we include the two maximum numbers only when it is specified to do so. But here its not specified.
If we do not include the two (2 and 200) tge ans will be D

Can someone please clarify this one?

Hi khushbumodi, In GMAT it will be clarified for all such questions. In this question, even if question said inclusive, it will not change the answer as both 2 and 200 are not cube of any integer. Hope it helps :)

The answer is B. the first statement is insufficient because it could be 2^3 = 8 and 4^3 = 64. We have two values. We need to know the value of x.

If x is both the cube of an integer and between 2 and 200, what is the value of x?

(1) x is even.
(2) x is the square of an integer

We need to find x.

Let’s list the cubes of some of the integers, starting from 2:

2^3 = 8

3^3 = 27

4^3 = 64

5^3 = 125

6^3 = 216

So, we know x is either 8, 27, 64, or 125.

Statement One Alone:

x is even

Scanning the list of integers above, we see that x could be either 8 or 64. Statement one alone is not sufficient.

Statement Two Alone:

x is the square of an integer

We observe that in the list of possible values of x, only 64 is a perfect square. Statement two alone is sufficient to answer the question.
