1 where there were cultural influences transmitted -> out
2 through which cultural influences were transmitted -> PERFECT
3 where there was a transmission of cultural influences
4 for the transmitting of cultural influences
5 which was transmitting cultural influences

why not A?

Actually we want the meaning to be : corridor transmits cultural influences between black africa and the medi basin !!!
hence if we goi by A this meaning changes again where there were is quite lengthy construction !!!GMAT wants simple concise effective sentences !!
Hence IMO B or IMO 2

You PASS through a corridor. The cultural influences, therefore, passed THROUGH the corridor. That is why A is not correct. B is concise and correct.
