Is the average (arithmetic mean) of a and b positive?

(1) a is positive.
no info about b. insufficient

(2) b is larger than a.
say, a = 1 and b = 3, the average of a and b is 2 (positive )
but, a = -3 and b = -1, the average of a and b is -2, (negative) insufficient

form (1) and (2)
a is positive
b is larger than a, which means b is positive.
so,a and b are both positive and the average of a and b must be positive sufficient

correct answer c
