Here, we have to consider two positive integers. It is given in the question that, instead of taking 35 as one of the multipliers, John incorrectly took it as 53.
Let, one of the integers be considered as “x”
So, we can represent this as –
(53)(x) = (35)(x) + 540
=> (18)(x) = 540
∴ x=30
New Product = 53 ×30=1590
Answer – E
There is another way to look at the answer choice and find which of them is a multiple of 53. Among these answer choices, 1590 is divisible by 53.
