Answer choice B is incorrect because it compares a person with a choice

Answer choice C is incorrect for using As salinger implying that salinger is the same person as thomas.

Answer choice D, wrong comparison

Answer choice E, wrong comparison and the actual sentence talks about Thomas.

Answer choice A is the right answer.
