GMAC is practicing what it preaches. GRE is cheaper overall I think

or rather what it prepares for

If I remember correctly, the prices were hiked for both online and the incenter exam. Online I guess is $300. Higher price crap experience !

shucks! I am thinking of taking it online

I gave up on the algo long back I got 26/36 correct and ended up with v 29
The magnitude of the penalty depends on the type of question you get wrong. Not so much for a tough question but a lot more for an easy question.

If the Gmac feels that you are not upto a high level after a few easy mistakes, it will not even throw at you any more difficult questions. And then you will feel the test to be ’easy’. That is not a good sign. You should always feel challenged in an adaptive test - that shows that you are performing at your level of ’inability’

In cases like this I would recommend using the Forum Quiz Feature. If you filter questions to 700+ level and change the timer to give yourself 90 seconds per question, you will become more accustomed to answering the question at a faster rate.

Just my 2 cents

dont the correct answers in the beginning matter more? or both first and last quarter matter equally? so maybe we can rush through the middle questions?

I would say -space out your skips. And do so after spending at least 15-20 seconds on the question so that you don’t skip what might be an easy one for you.

Chance is there for anything, anytime. Just use your judgement on the spot. No predetermined ‘game’ is sure to work.
