Shouldn’t it be Option B since the percentage is 45.45% which is greater than 45% and less than 50%

I'll only say that the OA is not C. Whether it's B or not we'll know on Tuesday 18th of October. Meanwhile you are welcome to post your solution! ;)

B should be the answer

Out of a total of 11 or more books , he chose 5 poetry books such that

0.45< 5 poetry books will be <0.5

1 will not work because if it’s total 3 books, then 1 poetry of 2 total books= 0.50 . This is not possible because it has to be less than 0.50

1 will also not work because if it’s total 3 books, then 1 poetry of 3 total books= .333 is less than 0.45. The fraction should be greater than 0.45

If it’s total 4 books , then 1 poetry book out of 4 total books= 0.25 which is less than 0.45

As number of books increase , the 1 out those many total books goes further and further lower than 0.45

How I got it?

Say x/100 is the fraction of poetry books

45/100 < x/100 < 50/100

9/20 < x/100 < 10/20

9/20 < (x/20) * (1/5) < 10/20

1/5 is the odd fraction that needs to convert to an integer because number of books need to be an integer . So 5 is the answer I think. Choice B
