Hoping for a positive feedback

Hello shivamsethi387

You can weave a great story around your Hotel Management experience. Unlike most sectors, it's one of the most challenging when it comes to the number of hours you need to put in and the compliances you need to follow. There can be a great connection you can make it to your NCC experience too (a discipline that it instills into your personality).

Make sure your GMAT is in place.

What kind of suggestions are you looking at?

As per Alumni help - you can reach out to students from Linkedin. Each school also has student ambassadors you can reach out too.

Keep track of all the webinars from your target schools so that you get to learn more about them. You can PM me if you need any specific help.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

I'm in a difficult situation and hope the GMAT club community will help me in this.

I'm an international student from India currently pursuing my Master of Science in Management at Ivey Business School majoring in Business Analytics. I have completed two terms and two more to go. I joined this program expecting a blend of both business and analytics skills, but the program seems to be heavily concentrated towards data analytics. Hence, I withdrew from Ivey and planning to join a program which has a holistic approach towards Business and Management.

Considering the current pandemic situation, I’m planning to enrol in a course within Canada starting this Winter term. Deadline for most of the universities is over already. Out of available options, I have chosen three potential programs for the January 2021 intake.
1. MBA at John Molson (Already submitted my application and video essays, waiting for GMAT Result)
2. Master in International Business at Queens - Smith (Already submitted my application and video essays, given GMAT exemption, Yet to give final interview)
3. MSc in International Business at HEC Montreal( Yet to start the application process - GMAT required)

I will be giving my GMAT on 15th September and hope to score around (620 - 650) range.
I would like to know my chances of admission for these programs as well as how these programs stand with one another with respect to curriculum, learning, reputation among employers and future job prospects.

My Profile:
CGPA:
Bachelors in Engineering - 7.54/10
Master of Science in Management - 3.7 / 4.0 (Withdrew after 2 terms)
Work Experience:
Software (Information Technology - India) -> 28 Months
Internships:
Business Development - EdTech Startup (India) -> 6 Months
Analytics Consultant - Major Law Firm (London, Canada) -> 3 Months

Hi Rishabh (@Rishabhjoshi3030),

You are on track with your school selection, profile, and GMAT score. Check whether you meet the GPA requirements for Indians at Imperial - that may be a stumbling block there.

You have 2+ years of experience already, though - why not consider an MBA?

Higher cost of pursuing an MBA is one of the reasons why I'm considering MiM. I'm also a little skeptical about my profile being good enough for an MBA application.

Hi Guys,
I'm Italian and I'd like to work in London in the first years of my career (Consulting firms, IB or big companies) and I don't know which master to choose. I'm in the last year of my Bachelor's degree, excellent GPA, C2 English, two internships but not in big firms, planning to do GMAT in October. I think I'm not gonna have problems to get admitted to ESCP MIM or Bocconi MiM (taught in English), less probably to International management in Bocconi that is ridiculously competitive. I want a two-years master but my main concern is which of these two universities have better reputation/links and possibility of placement/internship in London? can someone tell me their experience or thoughts?
Thank you all

Hello everybody, could you please evaluate my profile for the best B-Schools, MiM Program.

22-year old man from Nepal.
I am a graduate from Delhi University with a Bachelors in Economics with a GPA of 2.00/4.00
GMAT score 690 (V35,Q49)
I have 6 months of cumulative internship experience.
I will have 2 years of work experience as on 31st march 2021
I also have international work experience of 4 months.
Thank you for your time.

Hi bhavya1998,

Beginning to speak of the positives of your profile, your GMAT score of 690 is pretty good and would assist your application in several MIM schools and help you target the top ones.

Being a native of Nepal would help you showcase your diversity and add to the school’s diverse cohort so it is an add-on to your profile as well.

Also, since you have pursued your undergraduate degree from Delhi University, the name and ranking of the college can also turn out as a strong point to be highlighted in your application.

On the note of work experience, you have a considerable amount of work ex. However, the brands (companies) you associated with and the roles you undertook are crucial factors to strengthen your application.
Moreover, your international work experience is certainly a great factor to be stressed upon- where you have worked and the kind of work have done- in the application as schools tend to value applicants with international exposure. Altogether your work ex shall convey how dedicated you have been towards your goals to showcase your uniqueness amongst the crowd.

On the flip side, your GPA is very low and it certainly is a cause of concern as it would eliminate your chances from a lot of (UK) & Canadian MIM schools as they are more focussed toward the GPA while screening the application. Hence, this calls you to be cautious of the eligibility criteria of the schools you plan to target.

However, you need not worry, you can still target a number of schools but it would be ideal to avoid the UK & Canadian schools and rather target schools in the US & Europe and target schools such as HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, ESADE, IE, and even Duke- provided you draft a very strong application and surface viable reasoning for your low GPA.

In closing, if you wish to seek a more comprehensive profile in a way to gain detailed insights into your profile strengths & weaknesses along with a list of schools that best match your profile, then you can reach our FREE Profile Evaluation Tool through the link given below-

Hey shiprayadav096

You have a pretty decent profile

Your background of Bachelor’s in Architecture can be quite interesting as it sets you apart from other applicants coming from Engineering or business background. Your work experience in a slum rehabilitation firm is also a unique point as it is not a conventional work profile and can be used to showcase skills of Empathy, Perceptiveness, and so on, further, it shows that you have made an impact in your community. A good point which schools will appreciate

Your experience, how you have impacted people, and helped make their lives better would be a great point in your application as it not only displays your determination for social change but also your business prowess by exhibiting your leadership, initiative-taking skills, and proactive attitude. Be sure to highlight this.

Your college fests experience also is a good way to display your leadership skills so make sure you include the highlights of things you managed during that time.

However, your profile lacks a bit on the branding side but you can easily overcome it highlighting other elements of your profile to present a strong application.

Further, with a well-drafted application, and if your target Round 1 application, you have a pretty good chance of admission for your targeted schools.

Shedding light on your target schools, HEC Paris, ESSEC, and Michigan would come under the dream category.
While Esade, IE Business School, Fuqua would fall under the competitive category.

Lastly, since the major chances of your admission depend on the quality of your application, you might be seeking professional help to secure your spot in your target schools. Thus, you can check our, All-in-One Solution, our flagship essay editing service, to gain insights into how we can assist in creating a strong application. Hello,

My profile is:
Age:21
Over 6 months of internship experience in investment bank, middle office (it will be one year at the time of application);
I graduated in Finance and Accounting with GPA 4.5/5 (which is like 2:1)
I went for a student exchange to Trinity College in Dublin for half a year and studied business related subjects.
I took part in various workshops, coordinated one project in student business club, I was a part of student rifle club as well.
I haven't taken GMAT yet, but I should get at least 650 points (my baseline score atm is 600, but I believe I can improve).

I am planning to apply for MIM or Master in International Management in Insead, Esade, St Gallen (sim), Bocconi and ICL.

Can you please evaluate my profile and give some advice?

Thank you!

Hey JuliaKrupnik,

Your profile looks decent.

As far as academics go, your GPA (4.5/5) is quite good.

Invest Banking internship will be useful depending on the type of brand you worked with. A good brand will give you a slight edge over the competition in your resume. Brainstorm and highlight any quality achievement during your internship (E.g.: Your contribution to a major project etc.) Your experience properly leveraged can be a competitive advantage.

The International experience at Trinity College is a very good asset to your profile that can be highlighted in a way to showcase that you are proactive and have versatility, a thing which schools will appreciate. Try to add a few value-added impacts from the experience.

Further, on your extracurricular apart from the ones in which you participated add something about any leadership roles and initiatives taken, for example during your business club project, to highlight your skills and positive impact created via it, on yourself or on your surroundings.

On the GMAT side, schools also prefer candidates who have achieved a good GMAT score. Thus, as a testament to your quantitative abilities, I suggest you try for a 680 which is a safer bet.

Accordingly, Instead and St. Gallen would be in the dream schools category for you. So you will need to work extra hard on your application and showcase extracurricular and work experience properly to have a good shot.

Whereas, ESADE, Bocconi and ICL could be your competitive category schools, so playing your cards right and working to showcase how you could add diversity and have superior knowledge on the finance aspect in your application you have a shot at them.
