GMAT/GRE - preparing for gmat, aiming for 655
Work experience and leadership - received a ppo from a well known fashion retail brand which falls under a Fortune 500 company, selected 1/40 interns who converted, just began my role as a fashion management trainee in the company.
I have done two other internships, one in another well know fashion retail brand, and other as a marketing intern in a small agency.

Anything else?

I am just worried as I don’t think I’ll be able to make in time for R1 intakes as I just began my gmat prep and work is hectic already. Target schools in order of preference - Essec, fsfm ( frankfurt), esmt berlin, escp

Hi, Haritha123

Your goal to work in marketing after completing your master's fits well with your fashion design background and retail experience. It shows how you plan to use your creative and management skills in marketing roles.

To make your application stronger, highlight any specific skills or achievements related to marketing or brand management from your internships or current job. If you know about digital marketing, consumer behavior, or market analysis, share that too.

Given your recent start with GMAT preparation and busy work schedule, it's more practical to target Round 2 deadlines for ESSEC, FSFM Frankfurt, ESMT Berlin, and ESCP. Focus on preparing thoroughly for the GMAT and crafting strong applications that highlight your relevant experience in fashion retail and management. This adjustment will allow you to submit well-prepared applications that align with your career goals in marketing while managing your workload effectively.

Good luck :D

@Haritha123 - some thoughts:

1. Your undergrad pedigree and GPA are good angles. Would suggest aiming for a strong GMAT score, ideally 665+ GFE, considering your target schools. I would also suggest adding potentially 'Ambitious' programs like HEC Paris MiM to the mix, depending on your final score.

2. Remember that (while applying early is definitely advisable) it's better to apply in R2 with a stronger application (i.e. higher score, robust essays, etc.) than rushing it up with a mediocre application in R1. A good mix of schools across R1 and R2 could also be looked at, depending on how your GMAT goes.

3. The internships and Extracurriculars present interesting angles for essays. I'd like to better understand your key projects, skill-sets gained, and how/ why marketing is your motivation. It'd also be crucial to have directional clarity on which subdomains/ companies you'd like to get into post MiM, and how the MiM (and particular target program) would help.

Check out here for insights from the success story deepdive of a recent mentee of mine who got into the ESSEC MiM program

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Hey, pousha

With your good grades from a great school and impressive work experience, you've got a strong base for European MIM programs. To improve your shot at getting in, think about applying now. This way, you'll have more time to either do better on the GMAT test or find programs that accept the GRE test instead.

Even though applying in January 2025 is still okay, you can make your application stronger by looking into specific programs you like, writing interesting essays, and getting really good recommendations from people who know you well. Show them you're a leader by talking about your role as VP and other things you do outside of work. Try to mention how much of an impact you made with numbers whenever you can. If your cultural background is cool and fits with a program, be sure to mention that too. By doing all this now, you'll be a strong candidate for both the top programs like HEC Paris MIM and other great choices like ESCP MIM, SDA Bocconi, IESE, Alliance Manchester, and Edinburgh.

Good luck!

Hi,
I hope you guys are doing well.

I am 24 years old(I will be 25 when I enter a BSchool) and an Indian male.

High School(10th) Percentage: 86%

Intermediate(12th) Percentage: 86%

Then, I took a year gap to prepare for the IITJEE examination where I scored 98+ percentile.

Did Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur with an 8.0/10 CGPA.

In college, I participated for over a year in an initiative of our college where I used to teach underprivileged kids from nearby villages(I don't have any proof of it but might have some photos).

When it comes to sports I had represented and won 2 medals(for running events) in the interIIIT sports meets where over 31 colleges from around India participate. I have also participated and completed a half marathon and I intend to compete in the prestigious Indira Gandhi Full Marathon by this November.

In college, I lead a team in a fabrication interdisciplinary project on "Electricity Usage Prediction using Deep Learning" under a professor.
During my 8th semester, I interned as a software developer in a High-Frequency Trading firm, which later gave me a full-time opportunity. I worked in that company for about 11 months and then left the job because I found my interest in the business management side and that was something I wanted to excel in. For the last 2 months I have taken up the responsibility as Store Manager of my mother's shop(I withdraw my salary from the business so that I can show that as my business experience). It is a small business but offers a good learning curve.

Side by side I have started preparing for GMAT which I intend to give by the end of July. In mocks, I am scoring somewhere around 655.

I am mostly trying for a Masters in Management or MSc Business Analytics from European countries for September 2025 intakes.
I would be really thankful if someone could evaluate my profile

Hello, yashrajkesarwani

I hope you are doing well. With a strong academic background and technical skills, your profile shines for a MiM program. Your leadership in a fabrication project and social responsibility through teaching underprivileged kids showcase well-rounded qualities. To further strengthen your application, focus on boosting your GMAT score above 700. While managing your family business is valuable, emphasize quantifiable results and learnings to showcase business acumen.

Here are some potential European MIM schools that align with your profile: HEC Paris' MSc in Management (innovation and entrepreneurship), ESSEC Business School's MSc in Management (international business), Rotterdam School of Management's MSc in International Management (data analysis and quantitative focus), and IE Business School's Master in Management (technology and innovation). Remember, this is not an exhaustive list. Research thoroughly to find programs that perfectly match your interests and target GMAT score range.

Let's have a detailed analysis of your profile Click here to schedule a complimentary profile evaluation session with our experts . We match you with the students and alums of top B-Schools according to your background and target schools.

Hey, ksbk21

Your profile is good for applying to MiM programs at institutions such as HEC, ESCP, ESSEC, and LBS. Your GPA is decent for engineering graduates, especially when two internships are added to that,, indicating practical experience. Strong leadership skills and a commitment to social responsibility can be seen through your taking charge of your father’s business and engaging in charitable activities,, both of which are features admired by admission committees.

Furthermore, your engagement in clubs and events demonstrates strong interpersonal abilities and your capacity to participate in campus life. Aiming at a GMAT score of 650 is not bad, as this score will make your application more competitive, particularly if your GPA is below average for top programs. All these MiM programs can best suit you because of your academic background, work experience, and extracurricular involvement. Have an application that shows what makes you unique while appealing to past experiences, and consider contacting other students or people who have graduated from there.

We’d be happy to discuss your profile in more detail and help enhance your application’s competitiveness. Click here to schedule a complimentary profile evaluation session with our experts . We match you with the students and alums of top B-Schools according to your background and target schools.

ksbk21 - some thoughts and clarifications:

1. The undergrad (VIT) pedigree and GPA are alright. Would like to know more details about your internships in i.e. companies, roles/ functions.

2. Aiming for a 665+ (ideally 675+) in GFE would be ideal considering the schools in your target list. Check out here for an in-depth overview of the top MiM programs.

3. What are your career goals post-MiM? It'd be crucial to have a strong narrative linking your professional/ personal experiences, career goals, and how/ why an MiM fits in.

Hope this helps some. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

ArushSingh , Considering MiM in Europe can be a truly life-changing experience, especially when it aligns with your academic background and career ambitions. Focus on preparing for the GMAT and try to gain practical experience through a meaningful internship, as both are highly valued by European MiM programs. Additionally, achieving strong IELTS or TOEFL scores will help your profile stand out even more. Good luck

Hi, I would like to have your opinion about my chances to get in: Vanderbilt MSF, Imperial MSF, LBS MFA and other top master programs that waive GMAT / GRE requirements.

Indian, Male, 22 years old

Undergrad uni: Graduated in 2024 from a non-target US university (full merit scholarship)

GPA: 4.0

Work Experience - Currently work as an investment banking analyst in New York City at a bank that has presence all over the world (Canada, Europe, Asia, HQ - NYC). Previously interned at the same bank last summer, worked as undergraduate research assistant in college, have other other internships both in US and India.

Extracurricular Experience - Senior honorary, leadership positions in organizations, global ambassadors, etc

Coursework - Plenty of quant classes, also took 8 credits worth of python in college

Unable to take the GRE/GMAT as my job is quite demanding (70+ hours per week). Willing to write an optional essay explaining this.

Hey, I am an INDIAN Male.
I pursued Bachelors of Engineering with major in Manufacturing Engineering with a minor in Finance from BITS, Pilani, INDIA.
I graduated in july 2023 with a GPA of 7.62 and have been working since in my family business. Although it is not international but we have nationwide presence in almost 100 cities/towns in India. Because everything was new to me in the business I have worked in different departments, including franchise operations, product management, placements.
Before joining my business I completed a 5 month internship in Credit Suisse(investment bank), as an intern wealth manager in my final semester.
I have held POR in my college associations. I was elected the president of Manufacturing Engineering association and conducted several events in cultural and technical fests in my tenure in college.
Apart from this I have a few academic projects but nothing substantial.
I haven't given GMAT yet but my mocks are ranging from 655-705(GFE).
For my long term goals, I am a bit confused between leveraging my knowledge and skills gained for my family business or switching my field to finance, which fascinates me much.
I really don't know which college I should target. Ofc, I wish for LBS, HEC etc. but I want an honest opinion that with this profile, do I stand a chance because I know my GPA, lack of international exposure, over-representation of Indian engineering males, no published research papers and not so great gmat score puts me behind in list. I know I sound a bit pessimistic, but I don't want to raise any false hopes.
