Wizard2609
Hi there ! If someone could help me evaluate my profile I would be grateful
Schools : Essec , Escp , HEC , LBS , Insead
GRE : 328
GPA : 3.35(converted)(also it's very tough to get a high GPA in any law courses in NLU'S)
Course : Law Student in his 4th year from a Top 10 National Law University
Internships : 6 in total (These are from top law firms in India )
Extra -Co : 1 year of NGO Volunteering (got promoted to leader recently ) , various blogs based on legal scenario in India posted on reputed law blog websites , head of a committee in my college , several MUN'S , research based projects
Recommendations : Could get one from a CFO of a Huge Company (Think about Indian car manufacturers ) ,
Do Mim Schools consider diversity as not many law students apply for management courses ?
Secondly would my GPA be a hinderence
@Wizard2609 - some thoughts on your profile:
1. Your GRE (assuming a balanced sectional split) is good, and can potentially compensate for the GPA. Some schools like LBS tend to overindex academics, though, but most consider a holistic angle. Would like to understand your profile and preferences deeper to shortlist programs.
2. Would like to understand your internship experiences better to assess: what roles/ functions did you cover, key achievements, skillsets gained, etc. Linking these to your post-MiM goals and having a sharp narrative on how the MiM would help you transition, is crucial.
3. Extracurriculars sound great, and can present interesting angles for essays.
4. Regarding recommendations, your degree of proximity (i.e. how close you've worked with them, and how specific they can be in the anecdots and details they share) is more important than their title/ seniority per se.
Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out for a deeper chat.

Hi There! Thank you so much for the valuable feedback. 1) Roles in my Internship - I mostly targeted the corporate side of law. My main area was Mergers and Acquisitions and my internships stayed consistent with my sector as all of them were in Mergers and Acquisitions. Now, coming to my post-MIM- goals it would largely be Finance (Investment Banking, Private Equity etc etc). Due to my internships in M&A, I have a basic idea about all the formalities and ideas. 2) More towards my school shortlistings I would be targeting only these schools per se. I do not wish to attend any schools below HEC, ESSEC & ESCP as according to me opportunities in India would be better than any schools below the 3 main Grande Ecoles. Thirdly I wish to get an insight on this question. "I see that very few lawyers apply for Mim or any other management courses per se. Does that give me an advantage since the pool of law students would be abate compared to Engineers or Undergrad Business Degrees?
