Hi there, IISc Bangalore (having an unambiguous global reputation in STEM) with an 8.4 CGPA and a 695 GMAT Focus is a genuinely strong academic package for European MiM programmes — and I mean that specifically. Having said that, the HEC MFin is a very different programme from the MiM and needs separate handling, your fintech goal needs sharpening, and the Indian applicant pool dynamics still apply.
One Critical Strategic Issue — MiM vs. MFin
You've listed both HEC MiM and HEC MFin as targets. These are fundamentally different programmes and the distinction matters enormously.
The HEC Paris MFin programme is best suited for students who already know they want finance rather than a general business degree, with strong links to finance roles such as M&A, private equity, asset management, structured finance, trading, and consulting.
The MFin gives you deep finance technical training. The MiM gives you broader management exposure like fintech from the product, strategy, or general management side.
This is a meaningful fork in the road and your essays will need to reflect a clear, specific choice. Trying to apply to both simultaneously without a coherent narrative weakens both applications.
